Well, the due date rapidly approaches. May 13 is a mere 3 days away and my coworkers have a pool going on when this baby is going to arrive. Based on the fact that I feel like I’m exploding in slow motion, I’m willing to bet that will be soon.
This past weekend was all about painting the crib. My husband picked out grey and white and spent the whole weekend painting in shifts, carefully calculating the dry time before he applied a second coat. Then, on Monday, he brought the pieces inside and put the whole thing together. We popped a non-alcoholic bottle of champagne with my sister to celebrate!
After some setbacks, we managed to get all the pieces fitted snug and installed the crib in its rightful spot. It seemed the clouds parted and a ray of sunshine came down, angels singing in perfect harmony. I can’t express how proud I am of my husband. He worked every weekend, all weekend, for over two months to produce this incredible work of art and now our son will have not only a crib, but a toddler bed and a headboard for a full bed to treasure long into his future. Makes me a little teary-eyed just thinking about it.
Any day now!
